Sharon Kleyne, host of the Sharon Kleyne Hour Power of Water radio talk show and Founder of Bio-Logic Aqua Research, recently interviewed researcher and inventor Winston Kao of Natural Plus Plus. Mr. Kao's research interests include water, pollution, high density nutrition, fluoridation and the decline in soil nutrition due to agricultural practices and chemical pollution. He has concluded that soils no longer provide adequate high density nutrition.

Sharon Kleyne and Winston Kao agreed that to lead a healthy lifestyle on Planet Earth in the 21st Century, you can't take anything for granted, you must educate yourself and be proactive.

Mr. Kao has been studying agriculture, water, nutrition, chemical pollution and health for 25 years. He is concerned about the reduction in soil microorganisms that enable plants to absorb nutrients. Mr, Kao is also concerned about the water supply since water is the vehicle in plants and animals of nutrient transfer and toxin elimination. He notes that there are 3,600 cubic miles of water, suspended as humidity, in the air we breathe, which is just as susceptible to pollution as water in the soil or rivers.

Sharon Kleyne inquired about the influence of radio signals in the humidity in the air, and the possible effect on health. Kao noted that water is a powerful electricity conductor and that the human body, which is 60 to 70 percent water, certainly reacts to radiation and electro-magnetic fields. This would be relatively easy to measure.

Kao noted that water on Earth is becoming more and more positively charged. The healthiest water is negatively charged. 4G cell phones, he states, put out a strong negative charge that could be picked up by rainwater and by water in the body.

Regarding daily water intake, Sharon Kleyne and Winston Kao both recommend 8 to 10 glasses a day. Both agreed that distilled water, with dissolved solutes removed, is of little benefit. The mineral solute content of drinking should be free of lead, heavy metals and chemical residue.

There was considerable discussion of the "terra preta" farming method used by the ancient Mayas and Incas. Because of the tremendous amount of rain in the Amazon basin, nutrients entering the soil get leached out almost immediately. It is thus extremely difficult to grow crops or reestablish forests following logging or clearing. In the terra preta method, the soil is mixed with charcoal, pottery shards, volcanic rock and certain organic salts. Crops grown on terra preta soils require far less water and the nutrient holding benefit of the charcoal is never used up.

A thousand years later, the ancient terra preta soils remain productive. Some researchers believe that the entire Amazon rainforest exists on artificial terra preta soils and that the forests otherwise would be unable to grow.

Sharon Kleyne and Mr. Kao discussed the benefits of a vegan diet. Kao's primary concern is that vegetables today may be nutrient deficient and therefore not an ideal basis for a diet. For short-term personal cleansing, he has no objection. Animal based foods should also be eaten cautiously and sparingly.
