Sharon Kleyne Hour Power of Water and Rapid Eye Technology - A New Approach to Dry Eye, Computer Eye Strain and Stress Reduction

Potential Benefits of REM Simulation for Computer Users, Autism, First Responders, Stress, Dry Eye, Sleep and More

Sharon Kleyne interviews Ranae Johnson of the Rapid Eye Institute on World Talk Radio, Voice America, Green Talk Network and Apple iTunes and Twitter

Rapid Eye Institute.

Sharon Kleyne, host of the Sharon Kleyne Hour Power of Water syndicated radio talk show, recently interviewed Ranae Johnson of the Rapid Eye Institute (Salem, OR). Rapid Eye Technology (also called Rapid Eye Movement Therapy, REM Therapy or EMDR) offers a new approach to eye health, with potential benefits dry eye, computer eye strain, stress reduction and autism.

The interview may be heard on-demand on World Talk Radio, Voice America, Green Talk Network and Apple iTunes and Twitter.

Rapid Eye Technology.

Sharon Kleyne is excited about Rapid Eye Movement/REM Therapy, about which the public has received virtually no education. Rapid Eye Technology is based on the premise that the eyes are very closely connected to the brain and that the brain reacts to every eye movement, especially REM movement.

By performing certain eye exercises, often directed by a licensed Rapid Eye Technician, multiple benefits to the eye and to the brain may be achieved. Many of the exercises attempt to simulate REM (rapid eye movement) sleep, a sleep phase in which the brain-eye connection is especially close.

Sharon noted the work of Dr. Emoto, that water can pick up on and react to energy and emotions. Since 70% of the human body is water, including the eyes, the beneficial effects of stress reduction to the eyes and body can be far-reaching.

Rapid eye exercises;
  • Side to side movement looking ahead - stimulates auditory centers.
  • Looking high - stimulates visual centers.
  • Looking low - stimulates emotions.

Autism.

Rapid eye technology was first used with autistic children in an attempt to increase their ability to learn. This is achieves this by using REM exercises to reduce stress, trauma, distractions and other factors that may block learning.

Computers.

Computers create problems with stress, vision and physical health. Much of this, including computer eye strain and dry eye, can be traced to fatigue in the tiny ciliary muscles that control the movement of the lens and iris. Glare from a overly bright screen, which may not register in the eye as a bright light, can stress the ciliary muscles. Rapid Eye Technology exercises may help. REM eye exercises can reduce effects of radiation from computer screens, phones and TV.

First responders.

Rapid Eye Technology can be useful with accident victims. Eye responses are an indication of trauma and eye exercises can quickly relax an individual.

Sleep.

Eye exercises before bed can be very relaxing and quickly place you in a meditative state and help you achieve deep REM sleep faster. Closing the eyes tightly is not good for sleep, a side-to-side movement is best.
